The Beskydy Mountains are definitely one of the most popular mountain ranges in the Czech Republic. It’s not just its convenient proximity; we were completely charmed by the dense forests and beautiful scenery. If you’re planning a weekend getaway or a holiday in nature, you’ll need accommodation in the Beskydy. Since we know this area like the back of our hand, including various accommodation options, we have a tip for what might become your favorite place. What will you learn? Our review of Wellness Hotel Ondrášův dvůr, designed to help you enjoy your stay to the maximum.
How to choose accommodation in the Beskydy
When we seek Accommodation in the Beskydy, we want to be as close as possible to nature. Personally, I prefer smaller guesthouses and cottages deep in the forest over large hotels near tourist attractions and right next to the road. It depends on what you expect from it, who you are traveling with and for what purpose. How to choose accommodation in the Beskydy?
- Location
- Option for families with children
- Parking and accessibility (e.g., in winter)
- Restaurants and catering
- service
- wellness

Wellness Hotel Ondrášův Dvůr Review – How did it hold up?
Hotel Ondrášův Dvůr is located in the picturesque village of Bílá, surrounded by forests and mountains (literally). If you are looking for a place where you won’t hear the rumble of a tram under your window at breakfast, but rather the roar of a stream and the singing of birds, here you will find it. The bonus? In the winter it’s a short distance to the slopes for skiing, in the summer it’s close to the hike and bike trails. But watch out: it’s an adult-only hotel, so leave the kids at home this time!
Accommodation in the Beskydy as in a fairy tale
Hotel Ondrášův Dvůr offers a wide variety of rooms and cabins, so there’s something for everyone. Personally, I think the best options are the apartment cabins, many of which feature a small terrace, and some even include a garden. All cabins have a beautiful view of the forest or the picturesque area. And if you’re looking for something extra, it also offers rooms with private sauna or massage chair.

Restaurant – Ondrášův dvůr Review
What we really value is good food. Hotel Ondrášův Dvůr has perhaps the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had. From nuts and dried fruit, to fritters, salads, sweet pastries, and buns – just about anything you can think of. Additionally, you can sit not only in the pleasant restaurant but also on the terrace by the lake, enjoying a beautiful view in the summer. The food from the menu was also divine and the menu here changes every year, so if you go here regularly, you won’t get tired of it.
Wellness and sauna world – Ondrášův dvůr Review
Because we love warmth, heat, and saunas, we usually choose hotels that have at least one sauna. Here they have a sauna world and a thermal park. In the sauna world there are 4 types of saunas and a super cooling pond (Especially in winter, where a hole in the ice is cut). While in the thermal park, you can book a private outdoor vat (hot tub) with a view of the forest and attendant staff. Both are absolutely great, in addition, the fresh bar is part of the wellness building, where you can relax, for example, between massages.
What we appreciate are regular sauna ceremonies, a large selection of massages and procedures, such as peat wraps, whisk rituals or oxygen therapy (These are not commonly found everywhere).

Tropico Beach – Ondrášův dvůr Review
If you like something new that they just don’t have somewhere, then this is Tropico Beach. A beach with sand and a pool in the middle of the mountains, where you can win, for example, in winter, when it’s white all around.
Swimming pool and swimming pool – Ondrášův dvůr Review
Are you looking for accommodation in the Beskydy for the summer? Then you will definitely appreciate the opportunity to go swimming. Here you can find a beautiful swimming pool right next to the terrace, where you can swim in the middle of the forest, resting on a deckchair or having something good from the summer bar.
And if it’s already cold outside, you can also use a smaller indoor pool right next to “Tropical Beach“.
Music bar and wine cellar – Ondrášův dvůr Review
Part of the hotel complex is also a music bar, where you can go for a drink in the evening and sometimes there is a pretty good party (especially on the weekend). You can play whatever you want on the jukebox and have a good drink. It also includes a wine cellar, where tastings are sometimes held. But you can always have a bottle of good wine.

Advantages – Ondrášův dvůr Review
Compared to other hotels and guesthouses in the Beskydy, this one really has a lot of advantages that cannot be left out. For us, the number one advantage is clearly its location in the middle of a dense forest, along with its superb wellness facilities and swimming lake.
- Breathtaking views directly into the forest: Of course, it depends on which room you reserve. But from most of the rooms there is a really beautiful view directly into the dense forest, which is priceless for us.
- Details such as beautiful equipment and services that will please: Every little thing counts. We really liked the cozy and design equipment of the apartment cabins, the comfortable chairs in the restaurant and the pleasant environment of the entire area. The beds were also very comfortable, which you also expect when you pay for a hotel.
- Adults Only Area: For some it can be a disadvantage, others will appreciate peace, quiet and rest from children. There are many other accommodations in the Beskydy in the vicinity, which, on the other hand, are perfect for children (for example, the nearby Bauer Hotel).
- Pets Friendly: If you have a dog, you can take it with you (to selected types of rooms), which someone will definitely appreciate. Additionally, the surrounding wonderful forests are perfect for walking and frolicking with your dog.
- Stay Packages: Are you going to a romantic or wellness weekend? You don’t have to prepare anything in advance, all you have to do is buy a stay package, in which you have, for example, a welcome drink, prosecco, a thermal vat or perhaps a discount on massages.
TIP: If you have children, Ondrášův dvůr also has a sister property, Hotel Apartmány Martiňák, which are a little further away and are absolutely stunning and suitable even for families with children.

What is not in the hotel
Wellness hotel Ondrášův dvůr isn’t your classic, average hotel – definitely not. It’s a luxury accommodation like from a fairy tale, but there are a few things you might expect here that may surprise you. There’s no elevator, and many rooms are accessed by stairs, so keep that in mind. There is also no possibility to organize weddings, yoga weekends or other recreational events (but various corporate events are possible, for which there is also a congress room).
Getting Around Without a Car Can Be Challenging
If you don’t have a car, it will be a little more difficult to access. The bus runs only about twice a day (no joke!), and the nearest stop to the hotel is Bílá-Mezivodí, from which it’s a few minutes’ walk. In addition, without a car, it is even harder to go on trips. Of course it’s possible without a car, it’s just a bit more complicated.
Who is the Wellness Hotel Ondrášův Dvůr suitable for
Wellness hotel Ondrášův dvůr is suitable for:
- For all those looking for peace, relaxation and rest in the middle of nature
- For lovers of wellness and saunas who want to treat themselves to a wellness experience
- For travelers who want to enjoy the Beskydy Mountains actively during the day and relax in the modern wellness center in the evening
- For guests seeking an Adults-Only environment, rather than busy family resorts
- For all those who want to get out of the city and switch off completely for a few days – without distractions and with a view of the forests

Recommendations for guests or what we would do differently next time
Hotel Ondrášův Dvůr pleasantly surprised us. We know it very well and have been there many times. However, our recommendation, if you want to enjoy true peace in nature, is to visit during the week and avoid weekends when the hotel is full. You will have more space to book services, you will not have to wait anywhere for long, and there will be more peace in the entire area (and you will have the entire wellness to yourself).
But if you like a lively atmosphere, sauna ceremonies, wine tastings or parties are held here on weekends. It depends on you. We like silence and peace in the mountains, which is why we prefer to go on trips to the surrounding area outside of weekends. Don’t forget to book services as soon as possible, such as access to wellness or massage, so that there is still room!
TIP: This is how we often travel – off-season and on weekdays – embracing the Slow Travel, philosophy, which allows you to fully enjoy the present moment and atmosphere.

8 tips on what to see in the Beskydy near the Ondrášův dvůr hotel
As we mentioned, we know this area like the back of our hand. Bílá is a great starting point for various trips to nature, cycling, skiing or walking. What to see in the Beskydy around the Ondrášův dvůr hotel?
1. Lysá hora (1,323 m above sea level)
Queen of the Beskydy. If you love challenges, be sure to climb it – but even less experienced tourists can do it. At the top, a breathtaking view of the entire Beskydy, Jeseníky and, in clear weather, up to the Tatras awaits you. Several marked routes lead up, The most famous is from Ostravice or Malenovice. On the way, you can have something to eat in the Marathon hut or at the top in the new tourist hut.
TIP: In Ostravica you will find great refreshments in CO kafe or Vagonka.
2. Satinské vodopády (waterfalls)
One of the most romantic corners in the Beskydy. You can find them in the valley of the Satina river near Malenovice. The waterfalls are not high, but they are magical – the water here runs down the stones and creates small lakes, the stream bubbles, and the silence of the forest envelops you.
Tip: This place is one of my favorites in the Beskydy. You can also meet here on the way to Lysa, if you go from Malenovice. Throughout the year, hardy swimmers take dips here, which we definitely recommend!
3. Pustevny and the statue of Radegast
Pustevny are an icon of the Beskydy Mountains. You can easily get here by cable car from Trojanovice or hike on your own. On the ridge, you can walk along the wooden walkway, the historic Jurkovič-designed buildings (Libušín and Maměnka), stalls with Wallachian specialties and especially the route to the famous statue of the pagan god Radegast. In winter, ideal for cross-country skiing or sledding, in summer for an easy ridge hike with beautiful views.
4. Valaška trail
Above the Pustevny there is a modern path in the treetops – a fun attraction even for those who otherwise don’t like to hike much. The trail has a wooden walkway with several educational boards, a rope tunnel, a glass lookout and a suspended walkway that floats 30 meters above the ground. The views here are great and the whole thing feels like an adventure park in nature.
5. Grúň and Švarná Hanka
The Grúň area looks like it’s straight from a postcard – blossoming meadows, wooden cottages, peace and views. You can take a light hike from Bílá to Švarná Hanka, where you’ll find a cozy mountain hut with refreshments. On the way you will come across grazing sheep, shacks and possibly deer.
6. Obora bílá
Obora Bílá is located just a short distance from the hotel and is a great destination for an easy walk. You will see deer, fallow deer and mouflons here, you will walk along the educational trail and the children will be absolutely thrilled here. There is also a beautiful wooden gazebo where you can have a snack or just relax. We recommend taking binoculars with you if you enjoy watching animals.
7. Bílý Kříž and Zbojník
Bílý Kříž is a mountain saddle, where several marked hiking trails lead. The place is quiet, ideal for a light hike or an afternoon hike. The “Zbojník” is also located nearby, a small cottage with refreshments and a classic Beskydy atmosphere. The views here are more romantic than extensive, but all the more authentic. It is suitable for everyone who is looking for peace and quiet rather than familiar places full of people.
8. Staré Hamry and Šance dam
A picturesque village with a history cut by the Šance dam. Here you will find a combination of mountain cottages, deep forests and a dam, whose surface reflects the surrounding hills. A place ideal for a walk along the water or just to stop and enjoy nature. It’s not a tourist hotspot, but that’s why its beautiful.
