Most big hotels on Corfu sell you a pool, a buffet and a sea view. The Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu has two things we did not find in any other large resort we compared on the island. The first is a practical one: you reach the beach through a tunnel under the coast road, so you never have to cross the traffic with children, bags and wet towels. The second is a bit of history on the doorstep: according to tour operator descriptions, a path leads from the grounds straight up to the Achilleion, the summer palace of Empress Elisabeth of Austria. No car, no queue for the tiny car park, you simply walk. On an island where hotels cling to hillsides and the way down to the sea is usually the weak point, the tunnel is the feature you will notice every single day.

Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu at a glance
- Location: on a hillside above the coast road on Corfu’s east coast near Perama, just below the Achilleion palace. The address given on the official website is Perama – Corfu, 49084.
- 8 km from the airport and 8 km from Corfu Town, according to the tour operator listing we used. That is the shortest transfer of all the large Corfu resorts we compared.
- The way to the beach is down steps and through a tunnel under the road, not across it. The beach is about 100 m from the hotel.
- Sunbeds and parasols are free on the beach and around the pools. That is not a given for a hotel of this category on Corfu.
- It is more of a village than a hotel. A main building plus a large spread of bungalows scattered over the slope among olive trees. The official website calls it a “village-like” resort built amphitheatre-style into a green hillside.
- A minibus or golf buggies take you around the grounds on arrival and departure. That comes from the official website and tells you a lot about the size of the place.
- The all inclusive is better than average: as well as the buffets, there is a light lunch at the beach restaurant, snacks from 11:00 to 17:00, ice cream for children and the option of an à la carte dinner on the beach.
- Watch out: there is another “Aeolos Beach Resort” in Malia on Crete. They are two different hotels on two different islands.
- Official rating: 4 stars. Guest score on the tour operator site we checked: 9.4 out of 10 from 1,573 reviews (as of 13 September 2026).
First things first: which Aeolos is this?
Type “Aeolos Beach Resort” into a search engine and you get more than one hotel. The one this guide is about is on Corfu, near Perama, above the island’s east coast. Another resort of the same name stands in Malia on Crete. They have different websites, different owners and a lot of sea between them, so check the island before you book or read reviews.
The location itself causes some confusion as well. Some tour operators list the hotel under Perama, others under Achilleio, and booking sites tend to file it under the village of Gastouri. These are neighbouring villages on the same stretch of the east coast between Corfu Town and Benitses. The hotel has not moved, each system just uses a different administrative level.
If you are flying from the UK, this matters more than it seems: Corfu has plenty of direct summer flights from London and regional British airports, and the package holiday sites that sell this hotel may show either place name. Check that the map pin sits just south of Perama, below the Achilleion.
Where is the Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu?
The Aeolos sits on a slope above the coast road, between Perama and the Achilleion, on the greenest-looking stretch of Corfu’s east coast. Distances according to the tour operator listing (checked on 13 September 2026):
| From / to | Distance |
|---|---|
| Beach below the hotel | about 100 m |
| Corfu (Kerkyra) airport | 8 km |
| Corfu Town | 8 km, by public bus, stop nearby |
| Nearest village centre and shops | 3 km |
| Achilleion palace | private path from the hotel grounds |
Eight kilometres from the airport is unusually short for Corfu. For comparison, Kavos on the southern tip is well over an hour’s transfer away, and Acharavi in the north is similar. Here you are in your room before a transfer coach elsewhere would even have left the airport car park, and on your last day you can still fit in a morning swim before the flight home.
The flip side is just as clear: this is not a secluded spot. You are on the main road heading south, close to town and close to the runway. If what you want is an empty cove with nothing but cicadas, look elsewhere, for example the north-east coast around Erimitis.

Walking to the Achilleion, which you can’t do from anywhere else
The Achilleion is the palace that Empress Elisabeth of Austria, better known as Sisi, had built above the village of Gastouri. Together with Corfu Town, it is the most visited sight on the island. Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany later bought it, and in the twentieth century it even served as a casino. Today it is a museum with terraced gardens and statues, looking out over the whole bay.
At lunchtime the coaches arrive and the car park is small. If you are staying at the Aeolos and have your own path to the palace, you can turn up at nine in the morning when nobody is there and be back for lunch. It is the kind of advantage that hides behind a single bullet point in a brochure and yet decides whether you actually enjoy the place.
One thing to check before you go: in 2026 the palace is being restored, and its official website said that only the outdoor areas and the imperial gardens were open to visitors (as of 13 September 2026). Our guide to things to do in Corfu keeps track of this.

The beach at Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu, and that tunnel
On Corfu, hotels are built into the hillside and the coast road runs between them and the sea. The usual arrangement is cross the road, then walk down a flight of steps. With children, a beach bag and a wet towel that is no fun, and with a pushchair it does not work at all.
The Aeolos does it differently: you walk down steps and then through a tunnel that runs under the coast road. You never cross the traffic. It is a detail that no marketing copy makes much of, yet it is one of the most useful things about this hotel, especially if you are travelling with children.
What you will find on the beach (according to the tour operator listing, checked on 13 September 2026):
- Free sunbeds and parasols. For four-star hotels on Corfu this is more the exception than the rule; elsewhere you usually pay on the beach.
- A taverna and a bar right by the water.
- Beach towels against a deposit. The hotel’s own website lists pool and beach towels among its services without mentioning a deposit, so ask at check-in which applies.
The tour operator describes the beach as sand and pebbles. We are not treating that as established fact, because beach surface is the detail on which hotel descriptions disagree most often. Corfu’s east coast is generally pebbly to stony, so pack water shoes and treat any sand as a bonus.
The official website adds one more thing about the beach: the hotel holds the Green Key eco-label and explicitly lists “preserving the natural character and cleanliness of our beach” among its commitments. Eco-labels are no guarantee of a great holiday, but unlike advertising slogans, a hotel has to reapply for them every year.
What the Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu all inclusive covers, and what it doesn’t
This is where the Aeolos stands out most.

Three lines of that table are the ones you will notice most in practice:
- There is a lot of food. Late breakfast, lunch on the beach, snacks through the afternoon, ice cream for the children and a dedicated children’s buffet. That range is not standard for four-star hotels on Corfu and saves families a good deal of planning.
- The beach dinner comes with three conditions. Six nights a week, weather permitting and booked the day before. It is not a case of turning up whenever you feel like it.
- Early breakfast costs extra, and anyone with a dawn flight home will run into this. The official website lists it among the paid services. If you know you are flying out at six in the morning, budget for it or ask for the packed option in advance.
Bungalows instead of corridors
There are two kinds of accommodation here, and the difference matters more than it first seems. Some rooms are in the main building, most are in bungalows scattered over the hillside among olive trees and gardens.
Room types and sizes according to the hotel’s official website:
| Type | Where | Size |
|---|---|---|
| Double Garden View | bungalow | 21 m² |
| Double Sea View | bungalow and main building | 21 m² |
| Superior Sea View | bungalow | 25 m² |
| Family Garden View (sliding door) | bungalow | 30 m² |
| Deluxe Sea View | bungalow | 37 m² |
| Family Sea View, 2 bedrooms | bungalow | 46 m² |
The tour operator lists the room equipment as a bathroom with hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, fridge, safe, tea and coffee facilities and a balcony or terrace. According to the same listing, the air conditioning is central rather than individually controlled, which would mean the hotel, not you, decides when it runs. The official website, however, lists individually controlled air conditioning for most bungalow room types. If you sleep badly in the heat, ask the hotel directly which applies to the room you are booking.
Choosing between the main building and a bungalow is essentially a choice between convenience and quiet. A bungalow means more privacy, a garden outside the door and a longer walk to meals, because the grounds are large and hilly; the official website itself says guests are taken around the complex by minibus or golf buggy on arrival and departure. The main building puts you closer to everything, but with a corridor and neighbours on the other side of the wall.
We would go for a sea-view bungalow and accept the walking. If anyone in your group struggles with uphill walks, insist on the main building instead and ask how far it is to the restaurant.
Food and restaurants: what the hotel is proud of
When it comes to food, the Aeolos website offers more than the usual stock phrases. Specifically:
- The main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a mix of Greek, Mediterranean and international cooking.
- Paralia Beach Restaurant right by the sea, with Italian food at lunchtime: pizza and pasta cooked in front of you.
- Ionion Restaurant, whose breakfast holds the Greek Breakfast certificate from the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels. This is an official scheme that checks the breakfast really features local and regional produce, not just an industrial buffet.
- A private seven-course dinner on the shore, sold as an experience and not part of the all inclusive.
The hotel also states that it is certified to ISO 22000:2018 for food safety, and according to the official website its head chef is president of the Corfu chefs’ club. None of that guarantees you will like the buffet, but it is a good deal more specific than “a rich choice of international specialities”, a line that appears in every brochure going.
Now for the other side of the coin. An overall 9.4 out of 10 on the tour operator site we checked looks excellent, but the breakdown is more revealing (1,573 reviews, as of 13 September 2026): location 8.8, service 8.8, room 8.0, food 7.8 and Wi-Fi 7.6. The order says quite a lot. The best-rated item is the location, the one thing the hotel did not create, and the lowest are food and connectivity, the very things it advertises or that you can only judge once you are there. That does not mean you eat badly here: 7.8 is a respectable score. It means the certificates and the chefs’ club presidency show up in guest satisfaction rather less than the website would suggest. If you read Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu reviews on other sites, look at those two scores in particular.
Who the Aeolos suits, and who it doesn’t
Good for
- Families with children. A tunnel instead of a road crossing, free sunbeds, a children’s buffet, ice cream, a paddling pool, an entertainment programme and a free cot. This is the hotel’s main audience and it delivers for them.
- Anyone who hates long transfers. Eight kilometres from the airport is about as good as it gets on the island, which makes it a strong answer to the question of the nearest resort to Corfu airport.
- People who want to combine the beach with sightseeing. The Achilleion on foot, Corfu Town eight kilometres away, Pontikonisi and Kanoni on the way.
- Anyone who likes sunbeds to be part of the all inclusive. On Corfu you usually pay for them, and over a week that is not a trivial sum.
- Travellers without a car. The public bus stop is close by and town is only a few minutes away.
Not ideal for
- People looking for peace and solitude. It is a large resort on the main road close to town. If you want an empty cove, head for the north-east of the island.
- Anyone with limited mobility. The grounds rise like an amphitheatre, the bungalows are spread over the hill and the beach is reached by steps, even if a tunnel follows. The minibus only runs on arrival and departure.
- Lovers of sandy beaches. Corfu’s east coast is pebbly.
- Anyone who needs reliable Wi-Fi. Sources disagree, and in the worst case it is free only in the lobby.
- Guests who want to control their own air conditioning. According to the tour operator listing it is central, although the hotel’s website says otherwise for most bungalows, so check before you book.
How it compares with nearby areas, and what to do if it’s full
The east coast between Corfu Town and Benitses is the most built-up part of the island, so there is plenty of choice. In practice, the alternatives differ like this:
- Benitses, a few kilometres south. A real village with a harbour, a seafront promenade and tavernas, not just a row of hotels. If you want to walk somewhere in the evening rather than sit in the hotel bar, you will be happier here. Places to stay in Benitses
- Dassia and Gouvia, north of town. More choice, flatter ground, longer beaches and closer to the marina. More practical, but also busier and without the hillside views. Places to stay in Dassia
- Barbati and Nissaki, further north below Mount Pantokrator. The clearest water on the island and more peace, but the way to the sea is usually by steps with no tunnel, and town is twenty kilometres away.
- Agios Georgios South in the south-west, if you are going mainly for sand and shallow water for small children. Flat terrain and a long sandy beach, but the airport transfer takes over half an hour.
- Corfu Town, if the island interests you more than lying by the water. It is eight kilometres from the Aeolos and one of the loveliest towns in the Ionian Sea. Places to stay in Corfu Town

How much does the Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu cost?
Prices swing several times over during the year, so only a range with a date makes sense. As of September 2026, packages at this hotel sold on the Czech market started at roughly €360 per person (about £305) for the cheapest deals outside the peak season, with high-season prices well above that. Package prices from UK airports will differ, so treat this only as a rough guide and compare on the day.
The room type has a big effect on price here. A family suite with two bedrooms and a sea view has more than twice the floor space of a garden-view bungalow (46 versus 21 m² according to the official website), and the price reflects that.
On top of the package price, add the climate resilience fee (around €70, roughly £60, per room per week, in cash) and any extras such as early breakfast, late check-out or a packed lunch for the journey.
Aeolos Beach Resort Corfu: frequently asked questions
Where exactly is the Aeolos Beach Resort on Corfu? On a hillside above the coast road on the island’s east coast, between Perama and the Achilleion palace. The official website gives the address as Perama – Corfu, 49084. Tour operators also list it under Achilleio, and booking sites under the village of Gastouri; these are neighbouring villages and it is the same hotel.
How far is the Aeolos Beach Resort from Corfu airport? According to the tour operator listing, 8 km, the same distance as to Corfu Town. That makes it the shortest transfer of the large resorts on Corfu: Kavos or Acharavi are well over an hour away.
How do you get from the hotel to the beach? Down some steps and then through a tunnel that runs under the coast road, so you never have to cross it. The beach is about 100 m from the hotel and, according to the tour operator listing, sunbeds and parasols are free.
Are the sunbeds really included? According to the tour operator listing, yes, both on the beach and around the pools, parasols included. Towels are handed out against a deposit, according to the same source. Four-star hotels on Corfu usually charge for beach sunbeds, so this is worth factoring into your budget when you compare hotels.
What is included in the all inclusive? Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, a late continental breakfast 10:00–10:30, a light lunch at the beach restaurant 12:00–15:30, light snacks 11:00–17:00, ice cream for children, a children’s buffet 19:00–20:00 and selected locally produced drinks from 10:00 to midnight. An à la carte dinner on the beach is available six times a week, weather permitting and booked a day ahead. Details from the tour operator listing, checked on 13 September 2026.
Is early breakfast included if I have a morning flight? No. The hotel’s official website lists it among the services with an extra charge, along with a packed lunch for the journey and late check-out. Bear this in mind if you fly home early in the morning.
Can you walk from the hotel to the Achilleion? Yes, and it is the hotel’s great curiosity. According to the tour operator listing, a private path leads from the grounds to the palace. We recommend going early in the morning, before the tour coaches arrive, and checking first which parts of the palace are open, because restoration work was under way in 2026.
Is it the same hotel as the Aeolos Beach Resort in Malia, Crete? No. A hotel of the same name stands in Malia on Crete, and they are two separate properties. The Corfu one uses the website aeolosbeach.gr and the address Perama – Corfu.
Bungalow or main building? A bungalow means more privacy and a garden outside your door, but a longer and hillier walk to meals; the grounds are large, and the official website says guests are taken around the complex by minibus or golf buggy on arrival and departure. The main building is closer to everything, but it is a classic hotel with a corridor. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, ask for the main building.
Is the Aeolos Beach Resort good for families with young children? Of the hotels we compared on Corfu, we think it is the best fit. A tunnel instead of a road crossing, free sunbeds, a paddling pool, a children’s buffet, ice cream, an entertainment programme and a free cot on request. The only downsides are the hilly grounds and the pebbly beach.
